The "twisted tumbler" is my most popular design in glassware. See my process page to see how this unique shape is formed. The twist gives the tumbler a natural handle and fits great in your hand...that's right...FORM and FUNCTION! I always try and make a matching pair with each color design and have started doing them with opposing twists and inverted colors. In other words, the left tumbler, with pink top-orange bottom, has a clockwise twist and the right one, with orange top-pink bottom has a counter-clockwise twist. Great for a "His and Her" gift! Purchase them individually or buy the pair for a special price!

I have actually made several twisted molds with varying numbers of spirals. These tumblers were blown in a four spiral mold. The gold, smoky topaz and antique goldstone colors resemble an animal print and are great for a safari decor.

These colors worked well together in a bowl design I had made previously so I made some tumblers as well. It is a watery, light blue with amethyst sprinkled over the top. Color combinations that really work in glass are relatively hard to come by. Interestingly, there are many books on glass techniques, but none dare to touch the subject of color. I think this may be one of the most protected areas of glass and one where artists do their own unique research. Sometimes you can spot an artist's work by the color choices they use or patterns of color they achieve...that together with form is often a dead give away...

Every once in a while, I like to prove that I can also do straight...Here is a nice set of mixed blue-colored tumblers which were given an irridized finish in the final step.
