Cupricity

Sometimes when I'm designing, I just let a theme take hold and go with it. This was certainly true in this case which began when I forged a three piece spiral out of solid copper. To match the copper metal, I used copper ruby glass frit and lots of dichroic glass. The base is a gradient of decreasing thicknesses of steel from bottom to top with textured diamond plate on the surface. The weld seams were joined with copper wire and TIG welding. The process of adding copper to the molden steel was new to me and highlighted the copper theme. There was so much copper, I used a term to mean "of copper" or cupricity...
